Eye Health Associates, LLC Dartmouth partners with Vision Associates to provide best-in-class optical dispensary management at their location. Optical Assistants will work independently within the Eye Health Associates, LLC Dartmouth location with the full support of the Vision Associates Network.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Opticians with providing excellent professional patient care.
  • Assist patients in selection and fit of eyewear.
  • Assist Opticians with receiving eyewear from labs, notifying patients of their eyewear being ready, and maintenance of the patient’s Compulink file to ensure compliance regarding dispensing.
  • Answer phones, assisting patients who call with their needs.
  • Source insurance coverage for patients, verify eligibility, interpret benefits, and bill materials in a timely manner.
  • Assist patients with Contact Lens ordering to include but not limited to pricing, explanation of their benefits, ordering materials, billing insurance, receiving orders, and dispensing orders.
  • Create Patient Demographics in Compulink when needed, scan necessary documents.
  • Collaborate with Opticians on prioritizing tasks for best patient experience.
  • Communicate with Practice Partners as needed for best patient experience.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dispensary at all times, free of clutter. Keep frame boards and work area neat and organized.
  • Complete requested tasks effectively and in a timely manner, meeting deadlines and expectations.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned by the District Manager.
  • Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of previous experience in the optical industry.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
