Description
Join our dedicated team at the YMCA as the Director of Finance, where you will play a vital role in overseeing the financial health and sustainability of our organization. We are committed to fostering a positive community environment and supporting our mission through sound financial management. Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, implement, and monitor financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts to ensure organizational stability
- Performs daily cash management and maintenance of recurring journal entries; prepares non-recurring journal entries
- Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, policies, and audit requirements
- Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risk assessments
- Collaborate with leadership to support program development and organizational growth through financial insights
- Prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors and executive team
- Manages the annual independent audit, the preparation of financial statements and the IRS 990 tax form
- Acts as liaison with audit team, YMCA Finance Committee and Board of Directors
- Process office petty cash and replenishes account as needed
- Works with vendors and staff to resolve invoice discrepancies and keep accounts current
- Balances Account Payables General Ledger at month end
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision; manage crisis and high stress situations, and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines effectively
