Military Aircraft Sustaining Engineering Professional, Senior

The Opportunity :

As a sustaining engineering professional, you know that effective sustainment and operational readiness depend on clear communication, streamlined processes, and proactive decision-making. In this role, you'll provide fighter aircraft sustainment engineering analysis expertise. You'll provide project management and specific utility and subsystems, composite structures, corrosion mitigation, low observable repair, and wiring repair or troubleshooting subject matter expertise support for fielded, operational, or training units and depot or modification activities.

On our team, you'll implement the formal change request process for technical data, screen new releases of technical data, author technical instructions, and identify opportunities for process improvements. You'll also analyze in-service engineering products such as field action requests, time compliant technical directives, production asset inspection requirements, maintenance deviation requests, and defense technical assistance requests to identify opportunities for improvements to increase aircraft availability, reduce maintenance burdens, and improve aircraft user support.

You Have :

  • 5+ years of experience sustaining military aircraft and use of technical orders and related technical data
  • Experience analyzing, reviewing, and generating clear and concise technical documentation, briefings, and communications
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance data, statistics, aviation safety, and reliability
  • Ability to ensure all outputs meet quality standards, integrating diverse technical inputs as necessary
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance or life cycle logistics, or Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Engineering and 5+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance or life cycle logistics

Nice If You Have :

  • Experience sustaining 5th generation DoD fighter aircraft
  • Experience in a DoD weapon system program office
  • Knowledge of Military Handbook 516C, Airworthiness Certification Criteria, and related integrity programs
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification, Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Life Cycle Logistics Certification, or Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) Certification
  • Clearance :

    Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

    Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,600.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
