The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Applications Engineers (AEs) and Project Estimators. This role ensures that all activities within the department are managed effectively and efficiently. The Engineering Manager is also responsible for developing and implementing procedures, policies, standards, and goals to enhance team performance and align with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager include, but are not limited to :
- Ensure all team members receive proper training and understand the full scope of their roles.
- Provide team members with a P21 manual and encourage its use as a reference tool.
- Develop a comprehensive training program that establishes key objectives and required areas of knowledge for AEs.
- Match individual abilities with project requirements.
- Review the team's work for technical accuracy.
- Provide continuous oversight and additional training as needed.
- Assess AEs' progress and manage workloads effectively.
- Hire and provide ongoing training for AEs.
- Conduct performance reviews with team members.
- Establish policies and procedures for the AE Department.
