The Analytics Engineering team, part of our Data Engineering organization, strives to develop reliable and trusted data sources and tools, enabling accurate data-driven decision-making. Nestled at the intersection of data engineering, data science, and business analytics, we turn raw data into actionable insights through robust pipelines, scalable data models, and user-friendly tools. By prioritizing data quality, reliability, and usability, we empower our stakeholders to leverage data for genuine business impact.

Your Responsibilities :

Build and Lead the Team : Recruit, mentor, and nurture a skilled analytics engineering team collaborating with finance, CX, HR, compliance, and data science.

Architect Core Data Modeling Initiatives : Design our fundamental data models, providing technical leadership and direction to expert modelers while ensuring scalability and reliability.

Focus on Data Quality : Establish and uphold rigorous testing, monitoring, and validation frameworks to guarantee data accuracy and consistency.

Develop Domain Expertise : Cultivate a deep understanding of finance, CX, HR, compliance, and product data, constructing targeted data marts and tools to address real business issues.

Leverage AI and LLMs : Explore how LLMs and AI can revolutionize analytics and develop data foundations tailored to support these advancements.

Unlock Data Value : Collaborate with stakeholders to amplify the impact of data through scalable models, optimized pipelines, and integrated cross-product data.

Drive Business Impact : Oversee the creation of dashboards, ad-hoc analytics, and self-service tools empowering product teams to make informed decisions.

Prioritize Outcomes : Utilize appropriate frameworks and technologies to deliver value through data abstractions, internal applications, or optimized workflows.

You will create domain-specific data marts, analytics solutions, and tools that propel our products and business initiatives forward, all while adhering to data engineering best practices. Data Modeling Expertise : Proficiency in data modeling, ETL / ELT, and modern data stack tools such as Airflow, DBT, Snowflake, and Hex.

Knowledge of Best Practices : Familiarity with version control, CI / CD, OOP principles, scalable framework development, and advanced SQL practices.

Autonomy and Accountability : Ability to work independently while taking full responsibility for outcomes.

Business Acumen : Previous collaboration with product and data science teams to provide analytics solutions, understanding product goals, and addressing challenges through analytics engineering.

Effective Communication : Clarity in communication and ability to foster buy-in for your team’s initiatives while bridging relationships across teams.

Statistical Insight : Strong knowledge of statistics and probability that enhances data interpretation, assumption validation, and supports data-driven decision making.

Experience in CX and Compliance Analytics : Familiarity with building data solutions that support customer experience and compliance operations.

Pay Transparency Notice : Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position ranges from $243,865 to $286,900 USD. Full-time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
