What you will do :

Be a champion of excellence and will be responsible for the delivery, reliability, operation, and ownership of critical features and components within Venmo’s core application.

Lead a high-performing team of software engineers, and bring the leadershiprequired to solve complex, ambiguous, and high-visibility business challenges to drive growth, engagement, and monetization of Venmo.

Be responsible for the delivery of projects, including quality and timeliness, that impact your domain, and you will manage the technical roadmap for your scrum team and ensure alignment to a defined larger domain strategy.

Inform and influence technical decision making for the components within your group to improve efficiency, productivity, and operational stability.

Establish a record of successful technical leadership, a solid understanding of software architecture, and the ability to effectively manage an engineering teamthat deliversprojectsspanning platforms or groups.

Work with and enrich a talented and high-functioning team, lead them through ambiguity, and help determinetheir long-term strategy along with the organization’s engineering roadmap.

Define and drive reliability best practices and improvements across the organization's boundaries while setting and governing clear measures of success.

Bring efficiency to the organization through continuous improvement of systems, tools, and processes emphasizing automation.

Job Requirements :

A record of success in technical leadership,knowledge of software architecture, and cross-functional leadership competency.

A passion for building software and applications that delight customers and the love of delivering innovative solutions to complex problems

5+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, and / or product development.

3+ years managing a geographically distributed engineering team

Advanced technical acumen in distributed systems design and full stack development, with the ability to connect well with technically savvy engineers and other stakeholders across the organization.

Demonstrate a high emotional quotient and empathy, with the ability to build trust and create psychological safety while tackling tough problems and navigating conflicts.

Practiced in incident management. You bring direction and clarity to ensure urgency in mitigation at the time of an incident and comprehensiveness in fast follow-ups with root cause analysis and corrective actions. Like us, you uphold the credo that we should never let a good customer have a bad day on our platform

Expertise in technical product management, including agile delivery methodology, planning, estimating, staffing, and executing. Practice agile methodologies faithfully.

Effective communication skills, both written and spoken.

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
