(preferred)Standardized Test Prep : Provide test prep support.Education : A degree from a top-level university. A master’s degree is preferred.Classroom Management Training : Recent completion of classroom management training or workshops. (preferred)Teaching Philosophy : Ability to balance being an educator and a teacher, promoting both academic and personal growth for the student.Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide feedback and create detailed reports on the student’s progress.Disposition : Warm, approachable, and empathetic while also maintaining high academic expectations and rigor for the student.Preferred Qualifications : Experience in one-on-one teaching or private tutoring settings.Experience with advanced or gifted students, including differentiated instruction and enrichment planning.California English Teaching Credential is preferred.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement a personalized ELA curriculum tailored to the student's exceptional abilities and interests, focusing on advanced topics and enrichment.Provide one-on-one instruction in a variety of ELA disciplines, including but not limited to reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing, and visually representing.Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit the student's individual learning style, pace, and needs.Provide support for academic work, including homework, projects, exams, standardized tests and AP exams.Collaborate closely with parents and other household caregivers to track progress, set educational goals, and adjust lesson plans accordingly.Provide regular progress reports and feedback, highlighting academic growth, strengths, areas for improvement, and upcoming challenges.Foster a positive learning environment that encourages exploration, critical thinking, and a love for reading and writing.Maintain professionalism and discretion in all interactions with the student and family, respecting privacy and confidentiality at all times.
