General Purpose : The English Teacher (Grades 7-12) is responsible for providing students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to develop academic excellence, virtue, and leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Subject matter knowledge
- Knowledge of one or more of the following :
Classical literature including Ancient Hebrew, Greek, and Roman literature (Greek mythology, Bible as literature, Homer, Sophocles, Aeschylus, Euripides, Cicero, etc.)
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor's degree, preferably in English or Literature, with at least 36 semester hours in content area
Experience :
Prior teaching experience preferred but not required.
