The Office of Inclusive Excellence at Whittier College is seeking an Assistant Director, Veteran Student Services & Enrollment.
Reporting dually to the Director of the Office of Inclusive Excellence & The Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Veteran Student Services & Enrollment provides leadership, coordination, and direct support for programs and services serving veteran and military-affiliated students at Whittier College. The Assistant Director oversees daily operations of the Veterans Resource Center (VRC), advises student veterans, coordinates veterans’ recruitment initiatives with Admissions, and serves as a secondary School Certifying Official (SCO) in collaboration with the Registrar’s Office. This position blends student support, outreach, and enrollment functions to foster the recruitment, transition, retention, and overall success of veteran and military-affiliated students.
Hours : Monday-Friday
Exempt Status : Exempt
Full Time / Part Time status : Full Time
Salary Range : $70,000 annually; Salary will commensurate with experience, skills, and knowledge.

Position Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Strategic Leadership & Student Support
- Manage daily operations of the Veterans Resource Center (VRC), including hiring, training, and supervising student staff.
- Provide individualized advising to veteran and military-affiliated students on academic planning, financial aid, VA benefits, housing, employment, and access to campus / community resources.
- Develop and implement programs and services to promote the academic and personal success, retention, and graduation of student veterans.
- Serve as a campus resource on veterans’ affairs and advocate for veteran student needs.
- Coordinate veteran-focused orientation, transition support programs, and social / community-building events.
- Support and advise student veteran organizations (e.g., Poet Warrior Club).
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation for reporting and compliance purposes.
