KLEO Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe and supportive
environment for individuals and families in need. Our shelters serve as a haven for
those experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, and displacement, offering
essential resources, case management, and empowerment programs.
Position Summary
The Shelter Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of KLEOs
shelter facilities, ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for residents.
This role involves staff supervision, program implementation, compliance with policies
and regulations, and coordination of services for individuals and families in transition.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Management : Ensure the shelter operates smoothly, maintaining safety,
cleanliness, and adherence to organizational policies and housing regulations.
Staff Supervision : Oversee shelter staff, including Shelter Monitors and case
managers, providing training, scheduling, and performance oversight.
Resident Support : Foster a supportive environment for residents, ensuring they
receive appropriate services, referrals, and case management.
Program Coordination : Implement shelter programs that support residents in
achieving housing stability, employment, and self-sufficiency.
Compliance Reporting : Maintain accurate records, reports, and compliance
with local, state, and federal shelter regulations.
Crisis Management : Address emergency situations, conflicts, and incidents with
professionalism and adherence to trauma-informed care practices.
Community Partnerships : Work with social service agencies, law enforcement,
and other community partners to enhance resources for residents.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field (Masters
preferred).
Minimum of 35 years of experience in shelter management, homeless services,
or a similar setting.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care, case management, and housing-first
principles.
Experience working with individuals facing homelessness, domestic violence, or
migration challenges.
Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and crisis management abilities.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and respond to emergency situations as
needed.
