Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Analyst.
The Brooklyn Data Station at NYU Grossman School of Medicine's Department of Population Health is a resource for finding, accessing, analyzing, visualizing, and communicating clinical and community-level data, with a focus on neighborhoods in New York City and Long Island. Housed in the Community Service Plan, Brooklyn Data Station is guided by principles of community-engaged research and works collaboratively with researchers, clinicians and community-based partners to help inform community needs and assets assessments, quality improvement initiatives, and applied research projects to improve population health. We are seeking a qualified data analyst to join our team to provide support with data management, analysis, visualization and communication of findings.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build and engineer workflows to access and manage data from secondary data sources
- Support development of primary data collection tools through REDCap, including multi-lingual surveys, and create and manage analytic datasets and related codebooks
- Collaborate with Family Health Centers and NYU Langone DataCore to write queries and conduct analysis of electronic health records data
- Conduct descriptive data analysis from clinical and community-level data sources
- Collaborate with faculty, staff and community partners to develop user-driven data visualizations and reports
- Prepare and present results, reports, both oral and written, to a variety of audiences, concerning processes, results and impact
- Support efforts to monitor and track Brooklyn Data Station requests processes
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g., statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, health services, public health, economics, public policy). Minimum of 2 years of relevant work or research experience. Strong quantitative and programming skills (i.e., R, Python, SQL, SAS). Proficiency with data visualization tools. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities. Familiarity with medical coding classification systems (ICD, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED).
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Spanish or Mandarin preferred. Familiarity with population and clinical health metrics. Prior experience working with electronic health record data.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $66,300.00 - $79,023.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
