We are currently seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to contribute to various programs and collaborate with our dynamic engineering and production teams. This role is crucial as we design and implement cutting-edge solutions to complex defense-related challenges. You will report directly to the Electrical Engineering Department Manager while working closely with Program Managers across multiple contracts.
Location : This is a Hybrid role with work required at USCG Headquarters 2 to 3 days per week. Candidates are expected to be local to Washington, DC.
Primary Responsibilities
Utilize electrical engineering principles to perform calculations and resolve technical issues encountered in the design and engineering of United States Coast Guard (USCG) vessels.
Clearly communicate complex technical principles to clients.
Conduct quality assurance reviews of analyses, calculations, and engineering drawings.
Design electric and electronic systems, focusing on power generation, distribution, and centralized machinery monitoring and control.
Apply engineering knowledge to develop and review moderately complex technical reports relating to C5I systems onboard USCG ships.
Assess the influence of new or modified electronic systems on overall performance.
Review and provide input on design specifications, test requirements, DFSs, RFWs, and ECs.
Demonstrate familiarity with US Navy, USCG, ABS, and / or commercial ship design regulations.
Basic Qualifications
Must be a US Citizen capable of obtaining a United States DOD Security Clearance.
B.S. or higher in Engineering, Technical, or Marine-related field from an ABET accredited institution.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing and integrating shipboard C5I systems within categories such as Cybersecurity, Command and Control, or Sensors on Naval or Marine vessels.
Must meet Department of Defense IAT Level II Baseline Certification Requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in software tools such as CAD, AutoCAD, and Rhino.
Knowledge of MIL Standards and Specifications is advantageous.
Experience with USCG projects is a plus.
Familiarity with ACAT I or DHS Level I shipbuilding programs is preferred.
Pay Range : $67,600.00 - $122,200.00
