At Sierra Nevada Corporation, you will work in multidisciplinary teams to bring concept of operations to fruition to further our customers' mission objectives. You will work both independently and as part of a team. Join us! As a manufacturing engineer, you will research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll consult with program management, design engineers, quality, and production teams in order to develop the most efficient and cost effective means of producing our products at the highest level of quality possible. Your technical duties involve reviewing engineering designs for producibility and the development of tooling and fixtures, work instructions, production process and procedures. You will be involved in the application of manufacturing technologies and industry best practices during the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command / control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.
Qualifications You Must Have :
- Bachelor's of Science degree in related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Progressive experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Extensive experience in an electronics, aerospace or defense contract manufacturing environment
- Experience with new product introduction and transition to production
- Ability to read / interpret schematics or drawings
- Experience in DFM (Design for Manufacturability)
- Experience providing feedback to Design Team early on in the development cycle
- Experience setting up or expanding production lines
