Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL), Carrier Servicing Systems Unit is seeking a highly motivated mechanical engineer to join a world-class team developing the FORD class aircraft carrier reactor servicing system and other servicing initiatives in support of the U.S. Navy's Nuclear Propulsion Program. Responsibilities include developing novel equipment designs with supporting structural analyses through both hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis, fit-up evaluations, testing, and drawing development as well as the associated software used to operate the equipment (i.e. reactor servicing procedures and requirements). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to leverage and insert technologies into equipment designs, such as additive manufacturing. This challenging and rewarding position offers opportunities to develop and expand technical skills through complex assignments and training, interpersonal skills through numerous interfaces, and leadership skills through various assignments and mentorship.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field.

Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range
62,000.00 - $94,900.00 annually

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities : Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations.
