Key Responsibilities Review and code inpatient and IVR medical records, assigning appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS / CPT-4 HCPCS codes Abstract demographic and coding information accurately into the EMR and assign correct DRG / APC Mentor new coders and assist with coding unassigned or backlogged accounts Required Qualifications and Education High School Diploma or GED Minimum 3 years of acute care inpatient and / or IVR coding experience Certifications in coding preferred upon hire (e.g., Cert Coding Spec, Cert Prof Coder) Experience in a remote work environment Computer / data entry experience
