Network Administrator
Representing a Minnesota based client seeking a Network Administrator on a permanent basis. This is a fully on-site role located in Eagan, MN. Candidates must be local and open to on-site work daily.
Responsibilities :
- Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware, including but not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Implement and uphold network security protocols, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection / prevention systems.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to support server infrastructure, cloud networking, and virtualization technologies.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and take appropriate action to ensure systems are functioning optimally.
- Develop and maintain thorough documentation for network configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Manage user access and permissions to ensure secure and efficient network usage.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of disaster recovery to ensure business continuity.
- Evaluate and recommend network improvements, upgrades, and new technologies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff.
- Perform routine network maintenance, updates, and patches to address vulnerabilities.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Network Administrator role or similar position within the IT Services industry
- Proficiency in working with Cisco Routers and Cisco Technologies
- Expertise in Firewall Technologies, specifically Palo Alto Firewall
- Experience with Active Directory management and operations
- Knowledge of Backup Technologies and best practices for data protection
- Solid understanding of Computer Hardware and related troubleshooting
- Skills in Configuration Management, ensuring system performance and security
- Experience in Deployments, including planning, testing, and executing
- Familiarity with Cisco Access Points and their management
- Possession of Cisco CCNA and Cisco CCNP certifications is a plus
- Familiarity with Juniper network technologies and products
