Are you an organized person who likes working in a team environment? If so, a position as an ophthalmic technician might be the fit for you. Ophthalmic technicians are one of the most sought-after medical professionals, and the position allows for career growth and certification. As an ophthalmic technician, youll perform an extensive number of data collection functions to allow for the proper professional diagnosis of patients conditions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
1. High school diploma; some college preferred.
2. Experience within a professional environment with a strong customer focus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Communicating to patients, including informing patients about tests and obtaining patient history.
2. Performing accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks.
3. Performing duties consistent with ophthalmic writer / scribe.
4. Assisting physicians as needed.
5. Performing patient triage.
6. Maintaining instruments.
7. Performing administrative duties including confirming appointments and maintaining cleanliness.
