Job Summary :
We are seeking Youth Parole Officer III to supervise and enforce conditional liberty agreements for youth in the Central Region (Maricopa). This position will communicate with facility staff youth judges counselors families and placement centers to develop treatment plans goals and objectives to prepare youth to be successful in the community. ADJC wants you to come join our talented and diverse Community Corrections Team. At ADJC you will have the ability to collaborate in a team oriented environment.
Job Duties :
Maintains case management of youth in Secure Care in Community Corrections and Interstate Compact and prepares reports
Supervises youth on parole via face to face phone video and collateral contacts to ensure case plan objectives are being met
Determines appropriate placement counseling educational goals and / or work programming of assigned youth
Acts as a liaison with variety of community agencies (school counseling treatment centers and juvenile justice centers)
Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs) :
Knowledge of :
- Comprehensive case management principles and the juvenile justice system
- Federal and state laws pertaining to the supervision and treatment of assigned youth
- Effective juvenile practices and behavior modification techniques
- Local state and federal programs services and resources available to Arizona children youth and families

Selective Preference(s) :
Bachelors Degree or 60 hours of college credit and two (2) years of experience with juvenile or in human / social services field or three (3) years of Military and / or law enforcement experience and one (1) year of experience with juveniles or in a human / social services field or three (3) years of experience with juveniles or in a human / social services field.
Bilingual skills in Spanish / English preferred but not required
Pre-Employment Requirements :
This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function on the job then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license records checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked or suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.010).
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a behavioral assessment comprehensive background investigation and drug screening and post employment physical examination.
Current State of Arizona employees : In order to be considered for this position it requires acceptable performance history as demonstrated by not have been issued a letter of suspension or have been involuntarily demoted within one year preceding this job posting close date and have an overall rating of meets expectations or higher on the most recent employee performance evaluation.
