We are seeking a Pastry Cook to join our talented culinary team.The Pastry Cook is responsible for the preparation and execution of high-quality pastries, breads, and desserts under the guidance of the Pastry Chef. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Pay Range $20.40 - $21.40 #TowncountrySD
Responsibilities
Prepare and bake pastries, breads, and desserts according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Assist in the production of items for banquets, fine dining, and large-scale events while maintaining consistency and quality.
Properly measure and mix ingredients, ensuring accuracy and precision in all recipes.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in accordance with food safety regulations.
Monitor baking temperatures, cooking times, and ingredient freshness to ensure product excellence.
Assist with plating and garnishing desserts for service.
Follow HACCP guidelines and kitchen safety protocols at all times.
Collaborate with the pastry team and assist with daily prep work as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1-2 years of pastry experience in a professional kitchen, hotel, or banquet setting preferred.
Familiarity with classic and modern pastry techniques, including doughs, mousses, custards, and chocolate work.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and passion for high-quality presentation.
Willingness to learn and take direction from senior pastry team members.
Open availability, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Valid Food handler's card
Physical Requirements :
Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours per shift).
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-temperature kitchen environment.
Manual dexterity required for detailed pastry work.
