Job Description :
A Certification Technician independently tests a wide variety of HEPA-filtered devices such as biological safety cabinets and chemical fume hoods at Customer sites. A technician at this level can also be responsible for ensuring successful certification of a cleanroom while directing other technicians onsite. Responsibilities include effectively communicating results and ensuring Customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities :
1. Leads cleanroom certification projects ensuring all tests are completed in accordance with the agreed scope of work. Verifying acceptance criteria conditions are met and explaining the results to a Customer are included in the responsibility. May be responsible for up to five (5) other technicians onsite. (10-20%)
2. Performs routine certification and repairs of devices that contain HEPA filters and cleanrooms at Customer sites. This includes disassembling, replacing, or repairing defective parts; rewiring or reassembling as required; troubleshooting, and adjusting / calibrating by using standard and specialized tools and test equipment. (10-20%)
3. May perform specialty work such as ASHRAE 110 fume hood testing, National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) accredited certifications, VHP® room decontamination, Environmental Monitoring (EM), or compressed air testing upon successful completion of optional internal or external training classes. (0-20%)
4. Utilizes computer technology to record and upload testing data preferably while at the Customer site. Performs administrative duties promptly as assigned. (10%)
5. Follows Customer protocols when entering and exiting facilities and abides by all STERIS and Customer Health & Safety procedures. Acts as a positive ambassador for STERIS at Customer sites. (10%)
6. Ensures Customer satisfaction through proactive communication and commitment to resolving Customer issues and answering questions. (10%)
7. Communicates regularly with lead technicians, dispatch, and management regarding any changes to the expected schedule and outcomes of service visits at Customer sites. (10%)
8. Maintains and is responsible for personal tool and testing equipment inventory. (10%)
9. Identifies potential business growth opportunities and communicates leads to management and sales. (10%)
