Description :
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer plays a critical role in advancing the facility’s environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and workplace health and safety programs. This position partners closely with leadership, operations, and external regulatory agencies to ensure the site not only meets—but exceeds—OSHA, MIOSHA, EPA, and state environmental standards. The Safety Engineer will serve as a technical resource, lead key EHS initiatives, and help strengthen the facility’s long-term safety and environmental stewardship culture.
Key Responsibilities :
Environmental :
- Lead routine environmental compliance activities, including hazardous waste management, air permit compliance, wastewater monitoring, stormwater sampling, and SPCC program oversight.
- Maintain and update environmental records, permits, and regulatory reports such as Tier II, TRI, waste manifests, and annual environmental certifications.
- Conduct detailed environmental audits and risk assessments, identifying potential exposures and recommending corrective and preventive measures.
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and recycling programs.
- Oversee chemical inventory management, ensuring proper storage, labeling, secondary containment, and spill prevention.
Coordinate environmental inspections by regulatory agencies and serve as a knowledgeable point of contact during audits.
