Environmental geologist Jobs in Durham, NC

Responsibilities :

• Work on compliance and permitting projects related waste and water compliance (hazardous RCRA and non-hazardous waste, SPCC, DOT / Hazardous Materials, etc.).
• Write and maintain accurate environmental permits, modifications, and operating procedures.
• Deliver environmental programs, procedures, tools, and management systems, including employee training to help support a strong HSE culture at the site.
• Ensure applicable internal and external compliance reporting is coordinated and completed on time.
• Ensure the site is up to date with new or revised regulations and facilitate the implementation of programs and permits.
• Oversee the generation, transportation, treatment, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of hazardous waste activities, including manifests, annual reports, and biennial reports as required by RCRA.
• Lead initiatives to reduce the generation of hazardous waste through process optimization, material substitution, and recycling programs.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and inspections to ensure adherence to hazardous waste regulations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies regarding hazardous waste management issues.
• Deliver environmental policies and procedures that maintain SWPPP and SPCC plans.
