In this role, one inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and

ResponsibilitiesApplies EHS concepts and tools to the work environment in order to reduce and eliminate risks and maintain compliance with EHS regulationsParticipates in EHS Teams, taking on leadership responsibilities during meetings and committeePromotes awareness activities, educational and guidance to workers to prevent accidents and illnesses through continuous campaignsResponsible for incident investigations and root causes determination as well as to assist in corrective action implementation. Works with the Safety Management System to ensure timely reporting and closure of tasksAssists with data trending and analysis, perform risk assessments and provide training to employees as needed. Performs EHS inspections at the sites, and track corrective action & preventive action findings to closureIdentifies, implements, trains, and tracks the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when all possibilities of risk elimination have been appliedTests the workplace for environmental hazards such as exposure to chemical, dust hazards, and excessive noiseContribute to the development and execution of an EHS management system in support of the site's ISO14001 certificate. Leads EHS projects and initiatives as needed; May serve as informal team leadOther duties as assignedBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Safety Sciences or related technical degree is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceMinimum of 8 years of relevant experienceExperience with California regulations and agencies (Cal OSHA, CUPA, CA Fire Code, etc.)Must have a valid Driver's license and clean driving record, in order to drive company vehiclesOther Qualifications & Desired CompetenciesExperienced in and proficient with MS Office (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and other office productivity toolsCurrent certification in DOT, Cal OSHA 30hour, Hazard Waste Management is preferredDemonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrates competency in handling multiple priorities and use sound judgmentStrong leadership skills are required to ensure progress and compliance with EHS programs in areas where this role does not directly report.
