We are seeking a skilled Environmental Engineer to ensure environmental compliance and support sustainable practices at the facilities of a leading tech organization in the Sunnyvale / Mountain View area. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in environmental regulations and a proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced research and development environment. This role involves leading and executing tasks across multiple environmental areas, including air quality, hazardous waste, wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous materials management.
This is currently slated to be an 8-10 month contract.
Core Responsibilities :
- Develop and deliver environmental-specific training programs.
- Provide support for incident and emergency response activities.
- Conduct routine waste disposal inspections and manage hazardous waste removal, including the preparation of RCRA waste manifests.
- Assess facility operations for regulatory obligations, including but not limited to SPCC plans and air permitting.
- Maintain chemical inventory for HMBP and EPCRA reporting.
- Prepare and submit wastewater discharge monitoring reports.
- Compile and complete routine environmental reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Collaborate with health and safety teams, lab personnel, facilities staff, and cross-functional partners to evaluate new tools, processes, and equipment for environmental permit implications.
- Oversee environmental compliance efforts for California locations, including reporting, facility inspections, and process reviews.
- Prioritize hazardous waste management, with a secondary focus on water compliance.
- Ensure proper chemical storage, management, and waste disposal practices.
- Leverage knowledge of hazardous materials and waste to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
