Position Summary
Supports and assists operative teams with the daily flow of activities of the operating room (OR) and patient care by cleaning / disinfecting the operating room suites and related areas, transporting patients and equipment, stocking supplies, and performing other duties as assigned. In addition, this position serves a direct point of contact for the various Service Lines with special duties in the efficient management of mobile clinical sful performance of this role helps UH provide safe, helpful and courteous care to patients and directly provides safe, helpful and courteous support services to operative teams.
Essential Functions
- Facilitate the efficient turnover of operating rooms between cases and preparation for the following case. 50%
- Provide direct assistance to the various surgical Service Lines (eg, Cardiac, Orthopedics) to support and manage specialty equipment and supply needs in coordination with Service Line leaders. Act as a direct point of contact for Service Leads and Services. Responsible for managing storage areas as assigned. 20%
- Transport patients, trays, blood gases, specimens and equipment. 10%
- Support operative team with various requests while cases are in progress. 10%
- Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively to enhance patient care and facilitate daily operations.
- Participate as a productive member of the OR Assistant team.
