Job Details
The Environmental Services (EVS) Shift Manager is responsible for supporting the EVS Director and Operations Managers in the oversight, and day-to-day facilities' EVS Department operations. The Shift Manager successfully coordinates and manages all operational activities as directed by the EVS Director and THOMAS JEFFERSON UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL Leadership.
The Shift Manager works collaboratively with all levels of hospital leadership teams; ensures productivity improvement objectives are met, while cultivating service / product quality, and customer and patient satisfaction; and implements effective cost reduction plans and processes that support Hospital EVS goals, objectives, strategies, policies, and procedures. The Shift Manager ensures the EVS Director and Operations Managers are kept abreast of issues or problems impacting program efficiencies and effectiveness. This position develops and trains talent to ensure program quality, sustainability, long-term growth, and development is obtained; and leads by exemplifying the Mission, Vision and Values of THOMAS JEFFERSON UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL.
Job Description
The Environmental Services (EVS) Shift Manager :
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Mission, Vision, and Values in leadership behaviors, practices, supports and endorses senior leadership decisions, goals, objectives, and strategies.
- Works under the leadership of the EVS Director and Operations Managers, manages the day-to-day shift operations of the EVS department, and ensures program service support objectives are met. Provides a work environment that fosters positive energy, creativity, and teamwork among staff across all assigned areas; and provides operational and technical support to the EVS staff in support of the overall EVS program management. Coordinates within assigned Hospital unit(s) to ensure :
- Implementation of core program systems (Cleaning Practices and protocols, auditing tools, competencies, etc.) are met;
- Rounding and performance observation / inspection results are documents, and that employees have the tools and equipment they need; and Staff schedules and daily work assignments are complete.
Implements and manages established Quality Improvement Program and Evaluations, inclusive of the cleaning, safety and infection control, and reviews Customer Satisfaction Survey scores for discrepancies and overall EVS customer and patient satisfaction; and prepares Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) where necessary to resolve issues / concerns and address program quality deficiencies.
