Job Title : ChemistJob Description
The chemist will perform routine testing on incoming samples in the Chemistry Lab. The role involves the preparation of building materials and filters collected for air sampling along with the analysis of metals such as lead using various methods including Flame AA, ICP-OES, CVAA (for mercury), and IC (for chromium VI). The chemist must be comfortable with lead sample preparation, Flame AA testing and analysis, cold vapor AA, ICP, and IR chromatography. Maintaining cleanliness in the lab is also a key responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine testing on incoming samples in the Chemistry Lab.
- Prepare building materials and filters collected for air sampling.
- Analyze metals primarily lead (Pb) by Flame AA, ICP-OES, CVAA (for Hg), and IC (for CrVI).
- Maintain cleanliness in the lab.
- Manage 3-4 testing procedures simultaneously.
- Maintain various instruments on a daily basis.

Work Environment
The chemist will work closely with other lab technicians in a small lab with various instruments that need to be maintained daily. Multi-tasking is essential as managing 3-4 testing procedures at one time is vital. The lab is smaller in comparison to the PLM Lab.
