COMPANY OVERVIEW

Nonantum Capital Partners is a middle‐market private equity firm led by a group of experienced private equity and management executives, formed as a spin‐out from Charlesbank Capital Partners. Fund II closed in January 2022 with over $625 million of capital commitments, up from $385 million raised for Fund I in 2018.

  • Focus on the target‐rich lower middle market where the team has deep investment and operational experience
  • Seek to partner with founders, families, and management teams to build businesses of enduring value
  • Target companies in the consumer, industrial, and business services sectors with $10‐$35 million of EBITDA

Nonantum’s investors have a long history of working together, a deep specialization in the lower middle market, and a record of top-quartile returns over multiple business cycles over the course of their careers. The firm typically invests $25 million to $100 million of equity per transaction in companies with enterprise values of $50 million to $500 million.

  • POSITION FUNCTION

    Analysts will have interaction in all aspects of the private equity process, including initial due diligence, raising debt financing, advisor diligence, documentation and transaction closing, and post-closing portfolio monitoring activities.

  • The salary for this position is ~$80,000 - prorated for the duration of the internship
  • Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include :

    Investment Due Diligence : Analysts spend the majority of their time on the investment side of the business. This includes :

  • Examine industries to identify potentially attractive buyout candidates
  • Attend industry conferences to gain knowledge of industry trends and key competitors
  • Review confidential information memorandums of companies for sale
  • Help develop work plans, review data rooms, and draft data requests
  • Participate in company management presentations and due diligence sessions
  • Interact directly with senior management of target companies and senior members at Nonantum
  • Assist with debt financing, financial covenants, and debt documentation
  • Assist with deal closing activities
  • Portfolio Company Strategy :

  • Analysts also spend time on portfolio company strategy. This will include developing operational improvement plans that will be implemented after a transaction closes, attending board meetings, sitting in with senior executives, and helping manage external consulting teams.
  • INTERFACES WITH

    The Analyst will interface with everyone within the firm. Nonantum is a non-hierarchical firm where everyone is invited to and expected to speak up from the first day.

    PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Analytical Curiosity : Strong analytical capabilities and a curiosity to understand what the quantitative part of a problem
  • Structured and Logical Thinking : The ability to dissect a problem into an organized approach and form a hypothesis against which to run test analysis. Ability to present complex concepts / ideas in concise, easy-to-understand terms is critical
  • Powerful Communication : The ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and on paper
  • Educational Credentials : The right candidate will tracking towards a Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier educational institution with a strong GPA
  • Passion for Investing : A genuine interest in private equity investing is required
