Leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of policies and procedures related to the various compliance areas of oversight in alignment with government laws and regulations.

Areas of responsibility include : import compliance, export compliance, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) compliance, supply chain security, Anti-Bribery / Anti-Corruption (FCPA), anti-boycott compliance; GDPR data privacy compliance; OSHA workplace safety compliance; Department of Transportation carrier compliance; anti-trust; quality ISO 9001 : 2015; and dangerous goods / hazardous materials.
Collaborate directly with government agencies in support of SEKO’s activities, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Department of State Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), U.S. Census, U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Safety Carrier Administration (FMCSA), U.S. Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), and customs authorities in other countries in which SEKO operates.
Directs and collaborates in the development of multifaceted compliance educational and training programs so that employees and management are knowledgeable of SEKO’s policies and regulatory requirements.
Evaluate potential acquisitions for risk and integration challenges, providing feedback to the executive team.
Integrate new acquisitions into SEKO’s Global Compliance Program.
Investigate complaints and allegations and document findings and remediation while maintaining confidentiality and in line with SEKO’s values.
Regularly report Compliance successes and challenges to the Board of Directors.
Attend executive meetings to report on Compliance initiatives and stay updated on the direction of the organization.
Lead the Corporate Health and Safety Committee, including reporting on safety metrics.
Manage external consultants.
Oversee SEKO’s audit program, including internal and external audits.
Represent SEKO in industry groups and at external events.
Develop a comprehensive ethics program for SEKO, in collaboration with SEKO Cares and the SEKO ESG initiatives.
Advise clients on import and export restrictions and customs compliance related impacts to supply chain.
Work cross functionally with Operations, IT, HR, Finance, and others as needed to support any new regulatory changes or improvements to policy, gaining consensus amongst stakeholders and ensuring effective implementation.
Monitor regulatory changes and the potential impact to SEKO, including attending training, monitoring news and government websites for updates to regulations, and evaluating how any changes would apply to SEKO’s operations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Minimum :
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
10 years’ experience in logistics and / or compliance leadership roles.
Preferred :
Advanced degree in supply chain management or related field and / or Juris Doctor (JD).
Experience leading remote teams.
Experience with multinational teams.
SPECIALIST CERTIFICATIONS :
U.S. Customs Brokerage License preferred.
Certified United States Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO).
Certified Export Specialist (CES).
Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).
