  • ABOUT WILLAMETTE UNIVERSITY :
  • POSITION SUMMARY
  • Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) at Willamette University invites applications for a part-time instructor in the CE department to develop and teach a new 2-week Pre-College Animation Intensive, launching in Summer 2026. Read an overview of a similar program, the Foundation Intensive, . The course will meet in-person in downtown Portland, Oregon, at the Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art and Design. PNCA offers a syllabus stipend to account for time spent developing a syllabus, Canvas site, and other class materials, in addition to a per-program stipend
  • This faculty member may also be expected to spend a small amount of time outside of class doing preparation; this is accounted for in the per-program stipend. The Community Programs Coordinator is also available to provide support with syllabus and Canvas site development. Instructors will be supported by a student Program Assistant. The Community Programs Coordinator will be on-campus to manage check-in, check-out, and any additional student needs.

  • Required Qualifications
  • MFA in relevant field OR equivalent professional experience
  • Demonstrated achievement and involvement in relevant professional field / s
  • Teaching experience (especially with high school students)
  • Ability to reliably commute to PNCA for the duration of the program
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience creating syllabi and crafting student learning questions
  • Knowledge of critical and inclusive pedagogies
  • Salary : $10,500 stipend
