The Financial Analyst is a crucial member of the finance team and Milhaus organization. The position offers the unique opportunity to engage with a broad spectrum of financial disciplines, focusing on Capital Markets (Debt and Equity), while also spanning Operations, Development, Asset Management, and Accounting. A successful analyst will grasp complex objectives, deliver insightful, data-driven analysis, and identify key information to guide strategic decisions throughout the organization.
Essential Position Functions :
- Perform comprehensive financial analysis, including financial modeling, cash flow projections, investment analysis, and valuation assessments for potential real estate development projects and investment opportunities.
- Conduct financial analysis and modeling, including creating financial models, proforma analysis including cash flow and debt / equity, net present value, and discounted cash flow analysis, and IRR analysis.
- Evaluate and structure financing options for real estate projects, including debt and equity financing, and prepare financial analyses to support capital raising efforts.
- Preparation and dissemination of Investor Relations materials and internal communication materials for major transactions and capital raising initiatives.
- Evaluate and model complex equity waterfalls and capital structures within real estate projects, analyzing the distribution of cash flows, profits, and ownership interests among stakeholders.
- Assemble pitchbooks for Debt and Investor Relations with thoughtful analysis, research, and explanation of investment opportunities.
- Assist the Director of Debt in evaluating and structuring debt financing transactions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
- Assess the impact of different capital structures on project returns, risk profiles, and investor preferences.
- Conduct financial analysis and modeling to assess the impact of various debt structures on project performance and returns.
- Manage loan covenants, extensions / modifications, compliance, and reporting requirements. Ad hoc assist with cross departmental questions impacting Milhaus loans.
- Assist in full cycle of originating and closing new loans (construction, bridge, and permanent) and subsequently maintaining lender relations throughout the hold period.
- Conduct market research, analyze market trends, and economic indicators to identify investment opportunities, risks, and market dynamics affecting real estate projects.
- Identify and evaluate financial risks associated with real estate projects and develop strategies to mitigate risks and optimize project performance.
- Work with cross-functional teams including acquisitions, asset management, accounting, legal, operations, and development.
- Continuously improve financial models, analytical tools, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Generate and review memos and exhibits and evaluate presentation materials for investment opportunities.
- Perform analysis on special projects.
