Job description
We are partnered with a reputable Site Development Contractor located in the Huntsville area. Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Site Development. You'll drive project acquisition through strategic pricing and accurate bid preparation. Key activities include plan analysis, quantity takeoffs, cost determination, and proposal development that consistently captures profitable opportunities
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare estimates for civil site development projects
- Perform quantity takeoffs for site development projects
- Calculate material, equipment, and labor costs for comprehensive project pricing
- Utilize HCSS HeavyBid software to create and submit bid proposals
- Review construction plans and specifications to determine project scope
- Research current pricing for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Coordinate with project managers and field personnel on construction methods and costs
- Track market trends and competitor pricing strategies
- Manage multiple concurrent estimates while meeting deadline requirements
- Attend pre-bid meetings and job site visits as needed
- Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in civil site development projects
- Experience with residential subdivisions, commercial developments, and government projects
- Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid or similar professional estimating software
- Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans and specifications
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of earthwork, underground utilities, paving, and site preparation methods
- Established connections within the Huntsville construction market preferred
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for site visits
- Strong communication skills for client and team interaction
