JOB OVERVIEW :
The Estimator for the General Contracting team is expected to lead the estimating portion of the pre-construction process. The requires an individual who has high attention to detail and delivers estimates with great accuracy and in short timelines. This person must be comfortable bidding private and hard bid work.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Bid administration
- Solicits and maintains communication with subcontractors and vendors
- Prepares subcontractor bid packages
- Transmits addenda and other information to subcontractors
- Ensures proper subcontractor coverage
- Shows creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing
- Submits 100% of bids and budgets by bid deadline
- Project knowledge
- Review bid documents thoroughly and submit RFI’s on every bid
- Have a thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades and subcontractors
- Performs a comprehensive bid day analysis and scope review
- Choosing appropriate subcontractors for the project
- Minimize exclusions
- Project turnover
- Properly turn over all bid documents and sub buyout information to Project Management
- Attend and contribute to pre-construction meeting
- Review drawings with project management team
- Review job costs with project management team
