Summary :
Goldbelt CP Marine is seeking a Cost Estimator to support the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) in Norfolk, VA.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions :
- This position works under the supervision of a senior cost estimator.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for projects based on project plans, specifications, and other relevant information.
- Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and associated costs.
- Analyze historical data, industry standards, and market trends to generate accurate cost estimates.
- Gather and evaluate information from subcontractors and suppliers to incorporate into cost estimates.
- Prepare and present cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, overhead, and profit margins.
- Identify potential cost risks and provide recommendations to mitigate financial impacts on projects.
- Ensure that estimates are consistent with project scopes, specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, including cost breakdowns and justifications.
- Monitor and track project costs, comparing them with estimates to identify variances and suggest corrective actions.
- Perform other duties as needed.
