Inhouse Transport Services

Responsible for the timely courteous and competent transportation of patients throughout Holy Cross Hospital via wheelchair stretcher or bed.

Reports directly to Manager of Transport Services / Designee or to Administrative Coordinator in absence of Departmental supervisory personnel

Responsibilities :

Receives assignments for specific trips and associated tasks from Manager and / or Dispatchers.

Delivers and retrieves transport equipment throughout the hospital as directed.

Participates in cleaning and inspection of wheelchairs and stretchers.

Accepts additional assignments related to support functions as is needed to provide service excellence to patients visitors and hospital staff.

Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.

What you will need : Required :

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

General knowledge of patient transport and age-specific interactions.

Ability to read and write information in English regarding trip assignments and to confirm patients identification.

Ability to use alpha-numeric pager and telephone.

Customer service core competencies for ability to deal directly with patients their families and hospital staff.

Ability to read and comprehend policies and procedures.

Able to work independently.

Verifiable patient transport experience is extremely desirable.

Training in use of the equipment used to transport patients is recommended.

CPR certification required within (12) month.

Preferred :

Minimum of one to three months experience in a healthcare setting especially in a role which interacts with patients is preferred.

Pay Range : $17.65 - $21.63

Pay is based on experience skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
