Job Description Summary
The Office of Student Engagement Event Planning Interns are a key asset to the OSE team who work with the guidance of professional staff to plan and execute events for students on the Stonehill Campus. Individuals in this role work in a hybrid setting within the office and during planned event hours. This position goal is to provide more for students and give event planning experience from beginning to end. Individuals in this role report to the Assistant Director in Student Engagement and is hired for the full academic year. Below is a summary of the job responsibilities and expectations of the position.
- Plan, organize, and execute 2-3 campus events per month such as social gatherings, late night / weekend programming.
- Serve as a friendly, hospitable, welcoming presence to people coming into the office and at campus events.
- Create and manage event timelines, budgets, and checklists.
- Develop PR materials and strategies to effectively market events to the student body.
- Collaborate with the OSE Social Media Intern to design flyers, social media posts and emails.
- Work with OSE professional staff to arrange event set-ups, including seating, equipment, catering, decorations, etc.
- Coordinate with various campus departments, vendors, and external groups to ensure smooth event logistics.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and assess the success of each event.
- Make recommendations for future events based on feedback and evaluation data.
- Attend student workers training in the Fall and Spring
- Attend bi-weekly staff meetings to discuss event planning.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding any conversation, phone call, or paperwork privy to while working for the Office of Student Engagement
- Ability to work independently.
- Input events into Guidebook
- Other duties as assigned.
Each event is to be approved by the Office of Student Engagement and should not overlap with an event put on by the University, Programming Committee or Student Government Association.
