Job description

Summary :

AgReserves, Inc. is seeking a versatile and collaborative Executive Director of Planning to help run the CEO's office and amplify the effectiveness of the CEO in all engagements including with key partners, customers and investors. The Executive Director plays a pivotal role in the organization by serving as the behind-the-scenes leader who orchestrates various elements and unites them into a cohesive whole, which includes ensuring strategic alignment, operational efficiency, productivity, and effective executive decision-making. This role is the vital link between executives and everyday operations by providing indispensable support to drive the company's success.

Responsibilities :

  • Work with the executive leadership team to define, align, and codify key company-wide priorities and principles, including but not limited to annual strategic planning, quarterly company objectives, and key results.
  • Set key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve team performance. Identify opportunities in the business and lead short-term, long term, and ad hoc strategic projects or priority analyses as they emerge and monitor progress. Evaluate risk factors when making critical business decisions.
  • Map out processes and develop efficiencies and improvements, research and develop content for internal and external use, and work closely with all departments as needed to execute initiatives.
  • Form a strong, independent point of view on what it will take to achieve company and business unit specific operating goals, working with the executive team to understand potential gaps, define plans to address them, and ensure execution on those plans.
  • Shape and manage objectives and operating cadence of executive team meetings and executive strategic offsites by ensuring the right topics are surfaced, at the right times, facilitating effective discussion and documenting, and managing follow-up on action items.
  • Assist in content creation for key investment communications, including board slide decks and Decision Point items. Amplify the communication of the CEO by expertly designing and compiling compelling presentations
  • Deliver successful project management and work with external stakeholders and teams on strategic efforts that require hands-on experience across multiple functional disciples and business organizations.
  • Research, collect data, and report findings back, as well as serving as a thought partner and sounding board to the CEO, which includes providing advice and feedback.
  • Analyze opportunities, summarize findings, develop go-forward plans, and act as part of the ongoing team to translate recommendations into results.
  • Fiercely protect the CEO's time by ensuring energy is spent on identified and strategic priorities.
  • Act as a capacity expander to the CEO by acting as his delegate in what can be challenging conversations with both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Master's or relevant post-graduate degree preferred.
  • Eight (8)+ years of overall experience within a high growth business with a minimum of 2 years in a strategy consulting role or similar with a rigorous approach to analytical thinking.
  • Technical skills in modeling, data analysis and creating executive-level presentations.
  • Proven experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments, planning and leading strategic initiatives, as well as managing projects from early ideation, research, testing through implementation.
  • Solid project reporting skills including system level thinking, synthesizing and summarizing.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, executive level advisory skill including trustworthiness to handle confidential information with a high degree of integrity.
  • Strong decision-making skills with ability to multitask and prioritize in a rapidly changing environment in the face of many competing priorities with willingness to roll up sleeves to directly solve challenging problems and through ambiguity.
  • Ability to read situations and people, understand team and functional dynamics, be seen as a proxy for the CEO and sought out for their guidance, act as an additional set of eyes and ears to identify "early warning' signals across the company of potential barriers / roadblocks and be able to dispel.
  • Ability to work onsite and full-time from our Salt Lake City headquarters including after hours to support critical items.
  • Travel with CEO as requested, approximately 25%.
