POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the maintenance of all Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino buildings and property; prepares and oversees periodic property preventative maintenance inspection schedules and addresses any / all issues accordingly. Responsible for requisitioning materials required for maintenance, repairs, and special projects in accordance with department budgets and oversees and manages the maintenance staff to ensure casino, hotel, and systems operate properly.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Performs all functions in accordance with applicable laws and gaming regulations, the mission statement, and objectives of the Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino as well as established policies, procedures, and controls.

  • The primary duty is to ensure the smooth daily operation and guest appeal of the property.
  • Makes specific recommendations to the Facilities Director about suggested changes and improvements in departmental controls and procedures for the overall benefit and improvement of all department projects.
  • Assist Facilities Director with hiring, training, and mentoring of all staff.
  • Assist in providing support and leadership direction to staff.
  • Facilitates the flow of information throughout the Facilities Department by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with the members of the leadership team.
  • Strong technical skills in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
  • Ensure all safety policies are followed.
  • Monitors and reports to the Facilities Director on contract status and "red flags" or any delays or variances from timely and accurate document negotiation and execution.
  • Assist the Director in assuring that budget, project scope, project quality, and schedule remain aligned with departmental objectives and the client's overall business needs.
  • Assist the Director, ensuring budgets are planned and maintained and ordering of materials are done in accordance with internal purchasing controls.
  • Maintain and carry out operational policy for Facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Must have the ability to :

  • Work periodically under conditions of extreme urgency (creating higher levels of job stress).
  • Work more than 45 hours per week, which includes weekends and holidays.

  • Commit to coaching, teaching, and developing Spokane Tribal Members.
  • Commit to treating all team members consistently holding team members accountable for all policies and procedures.
  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of building maintenance management / supervisory experience. A combination of extensive experience and education / certification may be considered.
  • Valid WA State Driver's license.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills regarding building and ground maintenance; (i.e., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, tree / shrub trimming, street sweeping / plowing, etc.).
  • Demonstrate proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction concepts, and general project management.
  • REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

    In addition to the other duties described herein, each team member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations :

  • Must be able to provide authorization to work in the United States.
  • Employment is contingent on receiving and maintaining adequate licensing from the STGC.
  • Must learn and ensure policies and procedures are being followed per the departments' Internal Controls.
  • Must adhere to the Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino Team Member Handbook and ensure staff is following policies and procedures as well.
  • Must adhere to our guest service standards by providing excellent guest service.
  • Must interact with Guests and other Team Members in an upbeat and friendly manner.
  • The Facility Manager must be proactive and identify problems and solutions and commit to communicating with the Facilities Director.
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Casino.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not encouraged or permitted to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco products.
  • Refer to the Internal Control System and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Take the appropriate steps to report exceptions, fraud, acts of wrongdoing, and potential violations of regulations or internal controls to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Uphold high standards of ethical behavior, demonstrate an understanding of the impacts of problem gambling, and have knowledge of the Casino's programs to address problem gambling.

  • While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, or bend for prolonged periods of time; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Talking and listening is also done on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this position include the ability to adjust vision.
  • Must be able to lift, pull and push up to 75 pounds.
  • Capable of working in an office environment but duties may require working in all casino facilities, especially the Cage, Slots, and gaming areas, where the position may experience moderate noise and secondary smoke.
  • Capable of working for extended periods of time at a workstation, performing tasks on computer and working with documents.
