Facilities Technician

Key Responsibilities :

Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and HVAC repairs.

  • Address and resolve maintenance requests from staff promptly and efficiently.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address potential issues.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance services.
  • Obtain quotes, schedule appointments, and oversee the work of contractors to ensure quality and timely completion.
  • Maintain a list of approved vendors and build strong working relationships with them.
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure that all equipment is regularly serviced and maintained according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct safety inspections and address any hazards promptly.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work environment.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Order necessary supplies and parts in a timely manner to avoid disruptions in maintenance activities.

Education :

  • High school diploma or equivalent trade school.
  • Experience :

  • Minimum 3-5 years manufacturing environment
  • Ability to operate a forklift and / or material handling equipment
  • Proven experience in general maintenance and handyman tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with vendors and staff effectively.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to stand and / or bend for long periods of time (varied based on daily tasks)
  • Must be able to lift up to 60lbs.
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Math skills
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
