Facility maintenance Jobs in Sunnyvale, CA

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team who will be responsible for the daily upkeep of multiple locations in San Jose and surrounding areas. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the proper functioning of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and the ability to work independently.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Effective verbal and written communication with peers, managers, and outside vendors to convey technical data and needs.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Competence in repairing flooring, drywall, kitchen appliances, and troubleshooting plumbing, electrical, landscape, painting, carpentry and irrigation system.
• Computer/technology skills for job clock-ins, processing service requests, and submitting credit card reimbursements.
• Conduct routine inspections of buildings and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
• Promptly respond to service requests from staff and tenants.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair various systems and equipment.
• Customer service-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals.
• Fabricate and install fixtures, furniture, and other items as needed.
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Job Conditions:

• Occasionally work overtime and/or weekends.
• Need reliable transportation.
• Must have own tools

Work Environment:

Moderate exposure to fumes, dust, odors, oil/grease, and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hazards include:

• Working on ladders and/or heights.
• Working around mechanical/electrical equipment.
• Responsible for multisite venues.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certificates in electrical or mechanical trades or related fields preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written communication skills).
• Five (5) years of experience in general building repairs with proficiency in at least two specialty skills such as electrical and plumbing.
• HVAC experience is a plus, though not required.
• Experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role.

Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $30.00
Employment Type: Full-Time
Shift: Rotating, On-call
