Job Title : Science Teacher

Direct Supervisor : Principal

Contract Days : 10 Months (Academic School Year)

Position Responsibilities :

• Establish daily objectives that align to the Next Generation Science Standards, Common Core Standards and Missouri Learning Standards
• Plan for, differentiate and guide the learning process to ensure all students achieve the objectives
• Facilitate hands-on activities and real world learning projects that allow students to learn by experiencing and exploring
• Implement useful formative and summative assessment measures
• Select and utilize effective instructional methods and learning materials
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment that is conducive to learning
• Use discipline models of Restorative Justice to maintain a positive, encouraging learning environment
• Establish a cooperative and collaborative relationship with students, staff and families to achieve the overall purposes of the school program
• Maintain open lines of communication with parents / guardians
• Participate in routine meetings, trainings and professional development
• Regular and dependable attendance
• Additional assigned duties such as lunch duty, early arrival AM duty, dismissal duty etc.
