SUMMARY

PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to provide friendly, responsive service to all members, to accurately process a variety of financial transactions, resolve problems, answer questions, and identify / suggest financial services that would improve our members' lives. Tellers must be able to comprehend and adhere to security and compliance procedures. Member confidentiality is to be maintained at all times.
DUTIES
Provides friendly, responsive service to all members. Processes member's financial transactions, resolves problems, and answers questions regarding products and services. Receives, inspects, and verifies cash and negotiable instruments for deposit, accepts loan payments and performs a variety of other functions as directed and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Cross sells appropriate products and services to benefit the member and maintains sales goals set forth by the credit union. Responsible for balancing transaction input at the end of each workday. Conducts basic new account functions; conducts vault functions, including balancing of vault, CDMs, coin machines, and ATMs as applicable.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Our tellers exhibit excellent communication skills by listening to members' needs and offering expert advice on products and services in a positive, friendly manner in order to build lasting relationships with members. Tellers also exhibit patience and empathy, and are responsive when dealing with members and employees. The successful teller will be a focused, well-organized individual, with the ability to think on their feet. They will demonstrate a strong sales ability by uncovering products and services that meet member needs, and consistently reach sales goals. Charisma, a team spirit, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment are essential. Tellers are able to think creatively in all situations, and have the motivation to take initiative as appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements include high school diploma or GED, and prior cash handling and customer service experience. Prior teller experience is preferred, as well as computer proficiency.
