Shift is 5 days a week, 8 hours per day. Experience in General OR and Trauma is required. Candidate should have Level I trauma experience. Bariatric case experience is necessary, specifically in laparoscopic assisted cases. Experience in general surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, and mastectomy is needed. Knowledge of thyroidectomy and Whipple procedures is essential. Neurology case skills must include cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, and lumbar fusion. Orthopedic skills required include arthroscopy and carpal tunnel release. Candidates must have experience with closed and open reduction of fractures as well as microvascular procedures in plastic surgery. Experience with organ donation is required. Required urology skills include cystoscopy, nephrectomy, and prostatectomy. Trauma skills must cover amputations and treatment for gunshot or stab wounds. Emergency management skills should include code response, fire safety, and awareness of latex allergy and malignant hyperthermia. Familiarity with equipment such as electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources is necessary. Professional knowledge in administration of blood products and infection control is needed. Knowledge of radiation safety and specimen handling is required. Familiarity with the Universal Protocol and urinary bladder catheterization is also essential.
