Job description

Surveillance Investigator (SI) - Field Mobility

We are Marshall Investigative Group (MIG) , the industry's leading investigative firm, seeks self-motivated, solitary, independent, individuals with experience in mobile surveillance, fraud investigations and research. We look for licensed private investigators, mobile security, military, or police officer backgrounds to assist in insurance fraud claim's research involving monetary, bodily injury, theft, and property damage.

We are looking to hire a Surveillance Investigator (SI) to conduct mobile surveillance for legal documentation purposes. Territory may cover local, state or regional.

This is an excellent way for an individual to grow their experience in surveillance and investigative fields. With over 15 years of experience, our highly trained investigators have conducted thousands of successful insurance fraud claim investigations by obtaining innumerable hours of claim-disputing documentation, saving our clients millions of dollars on fraudulent claims.

General Duties

  • Follow established protocols and procedures for conducting surveillance operations in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a vigilant and discreet presence, avoiding detection, while observing subjects and their daily actions.
  • Document and report findings, incidents, and observations accurately and promptly.
  • Conduct mobile surveillance operations utilizing various monitoring equipment, including cameras and specialized devices.
  • Operate surveillance equipment and technology proficiently, troubleshooting technical issues as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding sensitive information obtained during the preparation for and during surveillance operations.
  • Prepare, review, and submit detailed reports of findings, incidents, and investigations within 48 hours of assignment completion. Reports must be concise, grammatically correct, easy to follow, and include all supporting documentation.
  • Participate in training programs and professional development activities to enhance surveillance skills and stay updated on industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management and support the organization's overall security and safety objectives.

At the Marshall Investigative Group (MIG) , our hourly rates, flexible day scheduling, benefits, and expense / mileage reimbursements exceed the industry. Expenses are covered and comprehensive benefits are available for full-time agents.

This position may require travel within your investigative region to accommodate full-time hours and client needs.

Qualifications

  • A driver's license (a clean driving record may be required).
  • Auto insurance must include 100 / 300 / 100 coverage limits.
  • Previous experience in mobile surveillance, law enforcement, foot patrol, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • You must either have or be able to obtain and hold a Private Investigator license (licensing may be restricted based on age and citizenship according to state restrictions).
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred (Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, observing and conducting surveillance for 10 hours per day, with the possibility of weekends, and may include some travel as requested or needed.
  • Strong observational skills with attention to detail, having the ability to maintain focus for extended periods.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate findings and observations clearly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in operating surveillance equipment and related technology.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential information and sensitive situations.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing surveillance operations.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and accountability.
  • Pay Scale : $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
