Job description

Job Summary / Description :

Lubbock's legacy station is looking for a news editor / associate producer. The ideal candidate will be proficient in video editing and understand compelling visual presentation.

Duties / Responsibilities include (but not limited to) :

Edit and send video for our -rated newscasts. You will collaborate with other team members to deliver the best possible product on-air
Help producers write and organize newscasts
May occasionally shoot video in the field
Be a team player

Qualifications / Requirements :

Empathy for others. A team-builder, with a dedication to collaboration and getting it right while serving our community

Strong video editing skills

Hands-on experience with editing software

Understanding of video sequencing and visual storytelling

Degree in journalism / communications / English or equivalent background preferred

Some newsroom experience preferred

Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Availability to work various hours as breaking news or special events warrant; but understand we have a sizeable staff to spread across all dayparts.
