Position Description
Directs, plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of a specialized unit or small department; develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities. Serves as liaison with university personnel and community at large. Works under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Major / Essential Functions
- Assists preparation of SOM financial reports and analysis as needed.
- Assists in managing the IDX / SOM Reporting function, including developing the monthly Finance Report, distribution via website to departments, senior management and the MPIP Policy Committee.
- Assists with the monitoring of the SOM cash flow and provides reports to senior management as needed.
- Assists with reviewing all SOM budgets during annual budget preparation and departmental personnel with preparation as needed.
- Assists with the preparation of the annual budget for the department.
- Assists in monitoring the SOM budget throughout the year and works with SOM departments on budgetary issues.
- Assists in the management of hospital contract funding and distribution to SOM accounts.
- Assists with SOM accounting oversight for Dean's Office funds and prepares regular reports for leadership.
- Assists with the preparation of specific monthly reports for all campuses.
- Assists with Managing the monthly distribution of patient-related revenue deposited into the trust fund for all SOM campuses.
- Assists with preparing annual reports for year-end financial reporting and distributes to HSC Accounting Services.
- Assists with the management of the financial portion of contracts with UMC Physicians.
- Assists with the LOFTS state reporting requirement for all campuses.
- Assists with the annual preparation of the Uncompensated Care reporting.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area required plus five years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
