CalPortland is seeking a summer in the safety department. This internship provides hands-on experience in workplace safety and compliance.
Compensation
22.00-$26.00 / hr DOE
Responsibilities
Assist in conducting safety inspections and observations.
Support safety training sessions and orientations for employees.
Help maintain safety documentation and records.
Collaborate with team members on safety projects and initiatives.
Learn and apply workplace safety regulations and best practices.
Participate in accident investigations and safety audits as needed.
Education
Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Safety or a related field.
Requirements / Qualifications
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field.
Interest in workplace safety and compliance.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.
Preferred :
Previous coursework or experience in safety or related fields.
First aid training or certifications are a plus.
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug / alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
