Position Description :
The Finance Transformation Manager will report to the Head of Finance Transformation and collaborate with the Finance leadership team to assist in the modernization and optimization of our finance processes. This role will require a hands-on professional adept at both high-level strategic planning and detailed execution, including process discovery, presentations to key stakeholders, and spearheading change across the finance organization.
This role will work collaboratively across the organization to drive best in class organizational change. This role will also act as the Finance lead on implementing and measuring any key business initiatives and system changes. Collaboration between the Head of Finance Transformation and the Business Transformation team is essential for achieving overall organizational success.
Job Responsibilities :
Support the Head of Finance Transformation in managing large scale projects including Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, and Account to Record processes
Develop & execute project plans for Finance Transformation initiatives ensuring timely delivery and within budget
Liaise with key stakeholders to understand their business requirements and develop and implement solutions that will support in driving best in class finance processes, systems and analytics solutions
Lead project managers and finance leaders through individual workstreams to execute finance projects that optimize existing workflows and process, resulting in scale for the business
Prepare and present key Transformation reports and status updates to all levels of the organization
Ensure the successful implementation of new financial processes and systems by the finance team and other stakeholders, including overseeing and ensuring completion of UAT, post-implementation user support, training and development
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress and success of finance transformation initiatives
Participate in detailed discovery and automation initiatives across the Finance organization
Act as an agent of change to move different stakeholders towards the goal of improving our processes, systems and capabilities within Finance
Recommend and implement best practices for modernization of the Finance function
Requirements :
Bachelor’s or master’s degree. Preference for Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems, Supply Chain, or similar
Substantial experience in Finance roles with a strong focus on finance transformation, process improvement, and strategic planning. Experience should include hands-on involvement in implementing automation and familiarity with ERP systems
Proactive, continuous improvement mindset with a commitment to achieving best-in-class finance and accounting practices.
Demonstrates resilience, adaptability, and a passion for challenging the status quo to drive impactful transformation
Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyze complex financial data, extract actionable insights, and communicate key findings in a clear and concise manner to influence decision-making
Strategic thinker with the capability to balance high-level transformation goals with practical, day-to-day challenges.
Skilled in navigating organizational change, bringing stakeholders on board, and ensuring alignment between strategic vision and operational execution
Demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between finance and IT functions to support technology-enabled transformation.
Robust project management skills with a proven ability to manage finance transformation projects from concept to completion
Additional Desired Qualifications :
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance standards
Proactive and confident in independent decision-making
Strong social skills, with ability to understand context and utilize it to drive agendas
Strong and recent experience with MS Office, Power Platform is a strong asset
CPA designation considered an asset
Compensation and Benefits package :
Seaspan’s total compensation is based on our pay-for-performance philosophy that rewards team members who deliver on and demonstrate our high-performance culture. The hiring range for this position is $115,000 - $133,000 CAD per annum. The exact base salary offered will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, job-related skills and knowledge, and internal pay equity. In addition to base salary, we offer a competitive total rewards package which includes an annual performance-based bonus, a comprehensive benefits package (extended health, dental, life and disability insurance), retirement savings plan matching and other company-provided rewards.
