Part-Time Financial Administrator
Location : Baptist Church of the Covenant, Birmingham, AL
Hours : Part-time, 30 hours per week
Compensation : Salary range of $30k – $36k based on experience and qualifications
Benefits : Individual health insurance, paid vacation time, paid holidays, and matching retirement contributions

Baptist Church of the Covenant (BCOC) is a welcoming, justice-oriented congregation in Birmingham, Alabama. We seek a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Administrator to support our church’s mission by managing financial and administrative responsibilities with integrity and professionalism.
Position Overview
The Financial Administrator is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing contributions, and ensuring smooth financial operations for the church. This role requires strong bookkeeping skills, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with church leadership and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain financial records, process receipts and disbursements, and reconcile bank statements
- Track and record pledges and contributions, and prepare giving statements
- Assist in budget preparation and financial reporting for church leadership
- Oversee payroll and manage employee benefits in compliance with tax regulations
- Comply with nonprofit financial best practices and church policies
- Work with the church treasurer, finance committee, and administrative staff to ensure financial accuracy and accountability
- Manage weekday rental of spaces in church parking lots
- Support administrative tasks as needed to ensure efficient church operations
