Job Description
Job Description
Description :
We provide compassionate, high-quality hospice care to individuals and families navigating the end-of-life journey. Our mission is to offer peace, comfort, and dignity to those in need, and we’re looking for a Controller who shares this passion and drive for excellence. If you're a seasoned accounting professional with a heart for healthcare, we want you to be part of our dynamic team as we continue to grow and make a difference in the lives of our patients and families.
Why You'll Love This Role :
As our Controller, you will be at the helm of our financial operations, ensuring that our hospice care services continue to be delivered with the highest level of care and compliance. You’ll lead a talented team, overseeing everything from financial reporting to budgeting, and compliance, while making sure that our financial health supports our life-changing mission. You’ll have the opportunity to drive process improvements, identify efficiencies, and bring your expertise to an organization that truly values its employees and the people we serve.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the charge for all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, billing, and financial statements for our hospice operations.
- Ensure accuracy in all financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and provide insights on our financial position to senior management.
- Support compliance by ensuring adherence to healthcare industry regulations and managing the preparation of tax, insurance, and compliance reports.
- Oversee audits by coordinating year-end audits with external auditors, ensuring the company’s records are in top shape.
- Strategic budgeting : Help manage annual budgets and forecasts to ensure financial targets are met while supporting patient care and operations.
- Cash management : Monitor cash flow, bank accounts, and ensure that all financial processes are streamlined and efficient.
- Risk management : Proactively identify financial risks and work with leadership to develop and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Acquisitions & Divestitures : Oversee the integration of financials from any potential acquisitions or divestitures in the hospice space.
- Empower your team : Lead, mentor, and develop your accounting team while ensuring they understand their roles and are set up for success.
- Continuous improvement : Identify opportunities to enhance financial reporting processes, improve systems, and implement technologies to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Benefits :
Our organization is dedicated to providing high quality care and an inclusive environment to all of our patients and employees. Home hospice takes place in our patients home setting, so it is vital for us to consider each patient and their support system entirely as we are in their space and serving them in one of the most vulnerable times in their lives. Our care is made more rich by individualized care plans that consider the wholeness of the people we serve and how that affects their goals and guides collaborative solutions that each patient is comfortable with. Promotion of a diverse workforce of people who are able to connect with the populations we serve as people allows us to meet these goals. Each member of our interdisciplinary team provides unique experiences and backgrounds that strengthen our ability to serve our patients and their loved ones. To support our diverse workforce and patient population, we use inclusive language in our listings, documentation, and intake forms. We also complete cultural competency and LGBTQ+ care trainings upon hire and annually.
We are an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status. Accommodation is available upon request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process. We are dedicated to fostering an environment free from discrimination and harassment, where everyone can thrive and contribute their best.
