PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Supervise the timely, accurate and cost-effective preparation of statistical and financial reports to provide a sound basis for management decisions.
2. Assure that financial transactions are conducted in a manner to provide maximum benefit for the Company.
3. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws relative to accounting practices to protect the company from time consuming and costly legal actions.
4. Provide financial and statistical reports that provide management with more pertinent information.
5. Select, develop and motivate a competent staff to assure attainment of department, plant and company objectives.
6. Responsible for scheduling, shipping and billing of product according to instructions from the Sales Department.
JOB KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and one to three years previous experience is preferred.
2. Must display a strong working knowledge of fully integrated ERP systems and financial packages.
3. Proficiency in personal computer applications is required.
4. Able to manage multiple priorities while also monitoring outcomes and being responsive to feedback information.
5. Able to lead and provide direction.
KEY CHALLENGES
The incumbent is accountable for the scheduling production and shipments according to product orders and inventory control; maintains hourly payroll; must be able to communicate effectively in an effort to maintain high morale, motivation and productivity. The Plant Controller is involved in project work such as reporting of principal supply inventory, finished product and fixed asset physical inventory, and from this project work develop financial and statistical reports that provide management with more pertinent information. The effectiveness of this position is measured by the timely, accurate and cost-effective preparation of statistical and financial reports.
